Transcription: With Apple Events, I have the freedom to communicate with any application package. For example, if a drawing package understands Apple Events, my application can send that drawing package some Apple Events and I know that it will do the right thing. I don't have to care what particular drawing package it is or even more importantly, who wrote that drawing package. The drawing package just has to understand Apple Events.
